Holy Week

Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday and Jesus' entry into Jerusalem.

There is much to focus on - the overturning of the tables in the temple, the Last Supper, the prayers in the Garden of Gethsemane, the betrayal by Judas...

Moving on there is Jesus' appearance before the Sanhedrin, his conversation with Pilate and his encounter with Herod.

Churches often hold children and family events during Holy Week where it is possible to look at the story as a whole - including Jesus' death on the cross and looking ahead to his resurrection on Easter Day. For children and families who are not churchgoers, this may be their only opportunity to encounter the central story of Christianity.
