Creative Church

We began Creative Church because we wanted to provide something for families that was informal and non-threatening and incorporated story, prayer, play, multi-sensory activities and opportunites for creative response.

Increasing numbers were coming along to Church Mice, our monthly pre-school service. Several also came along to our Christmas and Easter services and activities.

Some had tried all age services but found them too long and formal. We were keen to keep those who were moving on to school in touch with the church and felt that Creative Church would be a good next step for these families.

Creative Church is held twice termly on a Sunday afternoon.

We begin with singing and then have a brief liturgy to bring us together and help us focus. This is followed by the story.

We then move to the different stations whihc focus on different aspects of the day's theme. At each station there are opportunities for play, prayer and being creative.

We re-group for music and sending out. We finish with refreshments.
